Teeq Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Teeq, Inc. (“Teeq”, the “App”, the “Website”, the “Site”, or “we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and discloses your Personal Information when you use our mobile app or web app or visit our website.
Collecting Personal Information
When you interact with the App and the Site, we collect certain information about your device, your interaction with the App and Site, and information necessary to provide our services. We may also collect additional information if you contact us for customer support. In this Privacy Policy, we refer to any information that can uniquely identify an individual (including the information below) as “Personal Information”. See the list below for more information about what Personal Information we collect and why.
Device information
Examples of Personal Information collected: version of web browser, IP address, time zone, cookie information, and how you interact with the Site.
Purpose of collection: to load the Site accurately for you, and to perform analytics on Site usage to optimize our Site.
Source of collection: Collected automatically when you access our Site using cookies, log files, web beacons, tags, or pixels.
Disclosure for a business purpose: shared with our website hosting platform Squarespace.
Account information
Examples of Personal Information collected: Name, email address, username, Facebook profile information (ie. from Connect with Facebook)
Purpose of collection: to set up your account and log in.
Source of collection: collected from you.
Disclosure for a business purpose: stored securely on Microsoft Azure servers and Google Firebase.
Messages and media
Examples of Personal Information collected: any message you send within Teeq, and any media you upload to messages (photo and video).
Purpose of collection: to provide our Services to you.
Source of collection: collected from you.
Disclosure for a business purpose: stored securely on Microsoft Azure services.
Subscription purchase information
Examples of Personal Information collected: name, billing ZIP code, payment information (including credit card numbers), and email address.
Purpose of collection: to provide services to you to fulfill our contract, to process your payment information, and provide you with invoices and/or order confirmations, communicate with you.
Source of collection: collected from you.
Disclosure for a business purpose: shared with our payment processors Stripe, Google Pay, and Apple Pay.
Interest form information
Examples of Personal Information collected: name, email, phone number, name of your school, organization, group or business.
Purpose of collection: to contact you about organization subscriptions.
Source of collection: collected from you.
Disclosure for a business purpose: shared with our website hosting platform Squarespace.
Children’s privacy
Teeq is primarily intended for use by educators, organizations, and adults. Children under the age of 13 may use the App only as part of an organization or class and only where verifiable parental consent has been obtained.
We do not permit children under 13 to create independent accounts without such consent. If we learn that a child under 13 has created an account without verifiable parental consent, we will promptly delete the account and associated Personal Information.
Where verifiable parental consent has been obtained, we may use a child’s email address solely to send service-related notifications, such as message alerts or account activity notices. We do not use children’s email addresses for marketing, analytics, or advertising purposes.
For accounts associated with children under the age of 13, analytics data is used solely to support the internal operations of the App, such as maintaining security, diagnosing technical issues, and improving functionality. We do not use such data for behavioral profiling or targeted advertising.
Sharing Personal Information
We share your Personal Information with service providers to help us provide our services and fulfill our contracts with you, as described above. For example:
We use Microsoft Azure to host all our data, including messages, photos, and videos.

Behavioral Advertising
We do not engage in interest-based advertising.
Using Personal Information
We use your personal Information to provide our services to you, which includes: processing payments, messaging, giving feedback, and keeping adult account holders informed about new products, services, and offers. We do not send marketing or promotional communications to children under the age of 13.
Lawful basis
Pursuant to the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”), if you are a resident of the European Economic Area (“EEA”), we process your personal information under the following lawful bases:

The performance of the contract between you and the App and/or Site;
Compliance with our legal obligations;
To protect your vital interests;
To perform a task carried out in the public interest;
For our legitimate interests, which do not override your fundamental rights and freedoms.
Retention
When you interact with our App and Site, we will retain your Personal Information for our records unless and until you ask us to erase this information. For more information on your right of erasure, please see the ‘Your rights’ section below.
Automatic decision-making
If you are a resident of the EEA, you have the right to object to processing based solely on automated decision-making (which includes profiling), when that decision-making has a legal effect on you or otherwise significantly affects you.
We do not engage in fully automated decision-making that has a legal or otherwise significant effect using customer data.
Our payment processor Stripe uses limited automated decision-making to prevent fraud that does not have a legal or otherwise significant effect on you.
Services that include elements of automated decision-making include:
Temporary denylist of IP addresses associated with repeated failed transactions. This denylist persists for a small number of hours.
Temporary denylist of credit cards associated with denylisted IP addresses. This denylist persists for a small number of days.

If you are a resident of the EEA, you have the right to access the Personal Information we hold about you, to port it to a new service, and to ask that your Personal Information be corrected, updated, or erased. TDPSA
Texas Privacy Rights
This section applies to residents of the State of Texas and is provided in accordance with the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (“TDPSA”).
Categories of Personal Data We Process
As described elsewhere in this Privacy Policy, we may collect and process the following categories of Personal Data:
Identifiers such as name, email address, and username
Account credentials and authentication information
Messages, photos, and videos submitted through the App
Device and usage information, including IP address and log data
Payment-related information processed by third-party payment providers
Sensitive Data
Under the TDPSA, certain Personal Data is considered “Sensitive Data,” including the Personal Data of a known child under the age of 13. Affirmative consent is obtained through documented parental authorization where required by law.
Teeq processes Sensitive Data only with affirmative consent, including verifiable parental consent where required by law. Sensitive Data is used solely for the purpose of providing and supporting the App’s core functionality and is not used for targeted advertising or sold to third parties.
Consent may be withdrawn at any time, and upon withdrawal we will cease processing the Sensitive Data and delete it in accordance with applicable law.
Consumer Rights
Texas residents have the right to:

Obtain a copy of their Personal Data in a portable format

We will respond to verified requests in accordance with the timelines required under the TDPSA.
Targeted Advertising
Teeq does not engage in targeted advertising using the Personal Data its users.
Parental rights
In accordance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”), parents and legal guardians of children under the age of 13 have the right to review, manage, and control the collection and use of their child’s Personal Information.
Upon request, parents or legal guardians may:
Review the Personal Information collected from their child
Request correction or deletion of their child’s Personal Information
Withdraw previously provided parental consent at any time
If parental consent is withdrawn, the child’s account will be deactivated and associated Personal Information will be deleted, except where retention is required by law.
To exercise these rights, a parent or legal guardian may contact us at support@teeqapp.com. We may take reasonable steps to verify the identity of the parent or legal guardian before fulfilling a request, in order to protect the privacy and security of the child.

Cookies
A cookie is a small amount of information that’s downloaded to your computer or device when you visit our Site. We use a number of different cookies, including functional, performance, advertising, and social media or content cookies. Please note that because there is no consistent industry understanding of how to respond to “Do Not Track” signals, we do not alter our data collection and usage practices when we detect such a signal from your browser.
